Memorial Biography

Hilda Aline Mulliniks was born Hilda Littlejohn in Marion, Illinois on December 10, 1919 to Isaac & Dollie Littlejohn. Hilda passed away peacefully at the age of 100 years old of natural causes with her two granddaughters Elaine and Samantha by her side on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Bakersfield, CA. Hilda leaves behind daughter, Bertha Sulier, daughter Phyllis Brown & husband Russell Brown, and son Donald Joe Ferrell and wife Sue Ferrell, multiple grandchildren including Ron, Paul, Samantha, Elaine Colin, Patrick, Eddie, Raymond, Tina, Roy, Missy, Mandy, Robbie, Melinda, Rebecca, Joseph Keith and over 80 great and great-great grandchildren. Hilda is preceded in death by her parents Isaac (Newt) Littlejohn and Dollie Ellen Littlejohn; siblings James (Jimmy), Wilford, Beulah, John, Marie and Bessie; her husband Henry (Hank) Mulliniks; her son Robert Ferrell and her oldest grandson Rick Sulier. Hilda grew up in a time before electricity, phones, and television were common. She often mentioned sweeping their family's dirt floors and chopping firewood to sell in rural Indiana. She moved with her family and husband at the time Robert Ferrell to California in the early 1940's and established a home in Kern County. In 1962 in Delaware, Oklahoma Hilda married the love of her life, Henry Mulliniks. Together they built a wonderful life, travelling to National Parks, spending time with family and settling in Arizona. She returned to California in 2000 but left a piece of her heart in Prescott, Arizona. She worked in several careers including the hotel industry, but mostly enjoyed the hustle and bustle of being a diner waitress. She enjoyed working and when she moved on to lighter work, she and Hank managed mini storage businesses in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Everyone that met Hilda found her hard to forget. In Hilda's 100 years of life, she has touched thousands of people's hearts and is remembered for her laughter, sassy sense of humor, her classy demeanor and her love of God, her church her family and everyone she came into contact with. Her presence is missed and her passing is bittersweet. She always talked of the day she would one day be reunited with those who passed before her and the chance to walk and talk with her Savior. Hilda is no longer of this world but now her memories live on in our hearts.
